Grandview is James’ local children’s treatment Centre. It provides  services for children and youth with physical, communication and developmental needs.

Grandview has launched its Believe campaign for a New Grandview. Your donation to Grandview on behalf of James will help to create a new treatment centre in Ajax, Ontario.

Donations to Grandview Kids are eligible for tax receipts within Canada.

James and Chris will be riding the 100 km route in Durham Region's Gran Fondo. I suspect we will be the only participants kitted out on touring bikes... In James' words, "We go slow, but far."

Grandview Kids Sendoff Party

Come to Grandview Children's centre at 6:00 PM on the night before James heads out on his big ride. Enjoy a hotdog, hear his story and wish him well as James gets ready to bike to New York City.

Day 1 - The Journey Begins! (Whitby to Clarkson)

Join James and Chris at gazebo in Rotary Sunrise Lake Park as they embark on their journey. Bring a bike and ride alongside them as they head west on the Waterfront trail toward Ajax and Toronto.  Expected distance of about 90 km. Turn back when you've gone as far as you wish.

Day 2 - Clarkson to St. Catharines

Join James and Chris as they depart Mississauga and head east toward St. Catharines.  Today they will pass through the communities of Oakville, Burlington, Hamilton, Jordan, and finally arriving in St. Catharines. Expected distance of about 83 km.

Day 3 - St. Catharines to Medina NY

Join James and Chris as they continue eastward. Today they will ride from St. Catharines through Allanburg and Niagara Falls, crossing into the USA at the Rainbow Bridge, then into Niagara Falls NY, Sanborn, Lockport,  Middleport, and end the day at Medina NY. Expected distance of about 93 km.

Frog Bikes

A special thank-you to Frog Bikes and Bike Depot Pickering for outfitting James with his bike and gear to complete this journey. Frog is a bike company that shows they believe in kids by providing bikes, gear, and support to allow little guys to chase the dreams of dreamers twice their size. Thank you Scouts Canada for helping James and for showing him so many things he can do. Thanks to the scouting community of Ontario and New York for meeting us on the trails, finding us places to stay, and feeding us along the way.
